Eight years is a special age! We are so excited for this moment of life when he is ready to be baptized to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I, personally, knew the gospel when I was 16 years old (doubling the age of him) and I consider it one of the greatest blessings of my life. This opened the door to an abundance of blessings and knowledge by just taking that little leap of faith; saying yes to that couple of missionaries that came to my house to teach me, and my sister about many things regarding the plan of happiness that Heavenly Father has for each one of us.
So, just as our Savior Jesus Christ was baptized in the water by immersion, and at an age of responsibility to make decisions to choose between right and wrong, this boy has chosen and is so excited as well to follow Jesus’s example. Not to mention the blessings received by the covenant of this ordinance, that if we follow Him and remember Him, we are blessed with the company of the Holy Ghost, a special companion to help us and guide us through our life.
Every time baptism comes to one of my children, I love to document and celebrate with a special session at the Temple gardens of Calgary Alberta Temple, so we can remember how they look and felt right before when they started this wonderful journey. I did my first session with my oldest son in the same month of his birthday, as it was still great weather to do it in September; but as my other kids are from January, and the weather is too cold to capture their smiles and it freezes their true personalities… I decided to anticipate their session for August! And, in addition, the flowers at the Temple are full bloomed and so beautiful at this point of the year.
We couldn’t be so happier to watch them grow in their lives and in the knowledge of the truth; in the things that will lead them in a life full of the blessings of Heaven and of peace at our Savior’s way. Que lindas fotos Sheyla! Muchas felicitaciones para tu hijo, pero principalmente para ustedes los padres que son quienes lo han guiado hasta aca! Este año nos ha hecho pensar en tanto… y estamos tan cerca (nosotros vivimos en Seattle) que te ofrezco que cuando ya podamos volver a viajar los vamos a ir a visitar para poder cultivar la relación familiar que por la distancia no hemos mantenido cerca!
